McFaddin-Ward House, Beaumont, Texas, is a large, highly ornamental “Free Classic” mansion of fame, built in 1906 during the oil boom surrounding the Spindletop oil field.
The historic house museum owned by a private foundation was suffering a failed slate roof in addition to the failed copper roofing, guttering and water control systems.
Oak Grove Restoration Company found the old roofs impossible to save so replaced them all, and in the process discovered that the understructure of cypress needed repair.
In addition, Oak Grove undertook the conservation of ornamental balustrades and columns seen in these pictures.
